2018 Volunteer Awards

Do you know an individual who is making an outstanding contribution to non-profit housing in New Brunswick? Help this person receive the recognition they deserve by nominating them for the New Brunswick Non Profit Housing Volunteer Awards!

Who can submit nominations? The Board, or an individual board director, of a Non Profit or Co-operative Housing organization that is a member in good standing of the NBNPHA.
Who is eligible? For the Alex Arseneau Award: An individual who is currently serving as a volunteer on the Board of a non profit housing organization that is a member of the association, an individual who is a volunteer on the board of the NBNPHA.
For all other awards: An individual who is currently serving as a volunteer on a regular basis with a non-profit housing organization that is a member in good standing of the Association.
Selection Criteria: Demonstrated support, sensitivity and encouragement for non-profit housing in their community, accomplishments in the non-profit housing sector, leadership and initiative within the sector, contribution in raising awareness about housing issues, amount of time and commitment involved in the volunteer work.
Selection process: A committee shall be appointed by NBNPHA to review all submissions and conduct the selection. Nominations must be received no later than February 28, 2018.
How to submit a nomination: Nominations may be sent in the form of a written letter demonstrating achievement of the selection criteria listed above. Letters should not exceed 1000 words. Note: Previous submissions which did not result in an award will be automatically considered in the following year.

Award Categories

Alex Arseneau Volunteer of the Year

Demonstrated support, sensitivity and encouragement for non-profit housing in their community, additional accomplishments in the non-profit housing sector, leadership and initiative within the sector, contribution in raising awareness about housing issues, amount of time and commitment involved in the volunteer work.

Youth Award (to be awarded to a youth demonstrating the selection criteria and who is between the ages of 15 and 30).

Innovation Award (to be awarded to an individual or group who has demonstrated creativity and innovation in the delivery of their volunteer contributions, or creative solutions to affordable housing issues)

Lifetime Achievement Award (to be awarded to a volunteer demonstrating the selection criteria and having served 25 years or more in the affordable housing or co-operative housing sector)

Recipient recognition: NBNPHA will provide 2018 conference registration fees, and 1 additional Minister’s Banquet ticket for each Award Recipient. Nominating organizations will be responsible to cover any transportation or accommodation costs associated with attending the event. Recipients will be honoured during the Minister’s banquet with an audience of their peers, and will be required to attend a photo opportunity during the conference. Recognition will appear on the NBNPHA website, and media releases will be sent to relevant news agencies.
